SSP Kishore Kaushal Issues Key Directives to Enhance Law Enforcement Efficiency

The monthly crime review meeting in Jamshedpur focused on upcoming legal changes, warrant execution, and strategies to combat various criminal activities.

JAMSHEDPUR – Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal conducted a crucial monthly crime review meeting with key law enforcement officials to address pressing issues and outline new strategies.

The gathering brought together police personnel from various ranks to discuss crime prevention and law enforcement measures.

SSP Kaushal emphasized the importance of adapting to new legal frameworks.

"It’s imperative that all officers are well-versed in the upcoming criminal laws. Our effectiveness depends on our understanding and implementation of these changes," Kaushal stated during the meeting.

New Legal Landscape

The SSP briefed attendees on three new criminal laws set to take effect from July 1, 2024.

Deputy Superintendents were tasked with ensuring their teams comprehend these legal updates thoroughly.

Enhancing Warrant Execution

A special team under the Superintendent of Police (Rural) will be formed to improve the execution of warrants, proclamations, and attachments.

"Timely execution of legal orders is crucial for maintaining public trust in our justice system," remarked a senior officer present at the meeting.

Addressing Crime Hotspots

Police stations experiencing increased vehicle thefts, house break-ins, and chain snatchings were put on notice.

These stations must provide explanations within two days or face potential disciplinary action.

Combating Drug-Related Crimes

Proposals were requested for implementing PITNDPC measures and surveillance against NDPS accused.

An officer commented, "We’re intensifying our efforts to curb drug-related offenses and protect our community from these harmful substances."

Swift Justice in POCSO Cases

Station in-charges were directed to resolve POCSO Act cases within 60 days.

"Protecting our children and ensuring quick justice in these sensitive cases is our top priority," SSP Kaushal emphasized.

Monitoring Repeat Offenders

Instructions were given to submit CCA or surveillance proposals for active criminals with multiple property-related or serious cases.

Streamlining Passport Verification

The SSP mandated a five-day turnaround for passport verifications, stressing the need for efficiency without unnecessary harassment of applicants.

Emergency Response Improvement

A 30-minute response time was set for complaints received through the Emergency Response Support System 112.

Recognition of Excellence

The meeting concluded with SSP Kaushal honoring officers who excelled during the recent Lok Sabha elections.

"Your dedication and professionalism during the elections set a high standard for law enforcement in our region," Kaushal praised the awardees.
