Gunmen Rob Kadma Liquor Shop in Jamshedpur, Hold Guard Hostage

Six Miscreants Loot Cash And Expensive Alcohol In Late-Night Heist

Police and Excise Department investigate as concerns rise over area security.

JAMSHEDPUR – A group of six armed robbers targeted a liquor shop on Marine Drive in the Kadma police station area late Monday night, holding the security guard at gunpoint and looting cash and valuable liquor.

"The miscreants arrived in a white car and surrounded me," reported Raju Gope, the shop’s security guard who was taken hostage during the incident.

The robbery lasted approximately an hour, with the criminals forcibly opening the shop’s shutter and ransacking the premises.

Kadma police responded promptly upon receiving information, with Excise Department officials joining the investigation Tuesday morning.

"We’re examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the perpetrators," a police spokesperson stated.

The robbers stole an estimated Rs 1.20 lakh from the cash box, along with expensive liquor bottles, according to Excise Department assessments.

In an attempt to cover their tracks, the criminals removed the shop’s CCTV DVR, later discarding it in nearby bushes.

"The miscreants fled in a white Swift Dzire car," Gope informed the police, prompting a search for the vehicle.

The incident has raised concerns about the lack of police patrolling in the area during late hours.

Authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend the culprits and enhance security measures in the vicinity.
