JRD (A) team clinches championship in event for 55+ athletes

Jamshedpur’s JRD Tata Sports Complex hosts spirited water polo competition, showcasing the enduring athleticism and community spirit of local seniors.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Sports Department organized a vibrant Water Polo tournament for senior citizens at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, drawing 80 participants across 9 teams.

The event, open to individuals aged 55 and above, highlighted the athletic prowess of Jamshedpur’s senior community.

"This tournament proves that age is no barrier to competitive spirit," remarked Singh Sanjay, Vice President of Tata Workers’ Union and Chief Guest at the event.

Team JRD (A) emerged victorious, claiming the championship title in a display of skill and teamwork.

The Tata Workers’ Union team secured the runner-up position, showcasing strong performance throughout the tournament.

Jharkhand Veteran Sports Committee (B) rounded out the top three, clinching the second runner-up spot.

Singh praised the participants’ dedication, emphasizing the importance of an active lifestyle in the senior years.

The event served as a platform for senior citizens to engage in competitive sports and strengthen community bonds.

Organizers highlighted the JRD Tata Sports Complex’s role in promoting physical well-being and social connections among seniors.

The tournament’s success underscores the growing interest in senior sports activities in Jamshedpur.
