IMA Demands Action Following Assault at Sai Scan and Diagnostic Center

Healthcare professionals call for increased security measures after violent incident at local medical facility.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has expressed deep concern over a recent violent incident at Sai Scan and Diagnostic Center Private Limited near Sakchi Aam Bagan Ground.

Local IMA officials held a press conference on Thursday to address the attack, which involved approximately 20 to 25 individuals forcibly entering the facility and threatening staff members.

"Such acts of violence against healthcare workers are unacceptable," stated Dr. Saurabh Chaudhary, IMA Secretary. "We urge the administration to take swift and decisive action against the perpetrators."

Incident Details

Dr. Sudha Jhingan, the 84-year-old Managing Director of Sai Scan, recounted the events of June 23.

A patient named A Bano received an ultrasound diagnosis of ovarian torsion, a condition that can resolve naturally.

Dissatisfied with the diagnosis, the patient’s family allegedly stormed the center, verbally abusing staff and disturbing other patients.

"Our center has always prioritized accuracy and patient well-being," Dr. Jhingan affirmed. "All our records are available for verification."

Call for Action

The IMA representatives, including Dr. Neeraj, President of Jharkhand IRA, urged authorities to implement stricter security measures at medical facilities.

They emphasized the need to protect healthcare workers and ensure a safe environment for all patients.

This incident has highlighted the growing concern over the safety of medical professionals and the importance of maintaining trust between healthcare providers and the community they serve.
