Major success for security forces, 8 Kolhan Maoists surrender in Ranchi

Ranchi: Eight members of the Maoist outfit active in Kolhan, Jharkhand, have surrendered to police and the CRPF in Ranchi.

Jairam Bodra, Sarita Sardar, Matro Mageria, Kumir Purti, Patar Koda, Kartik Sirka, Roshni Purti, and one other Naxalite are among those arrested in Chaibasa and Seraikela.

Karthik and Roshni Purti were Maoist Hit Squad members.

8 Kolhan Maoists surrender.

These people have been members of the Maoist group for ten years and were part of the Anmol squad.

They are wanted for a variety of crimes, including attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act.

The surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Jharkhand government influenced their decision to surrender, and they will be assisted through state programmes to help them reintegrate.

The DIG Amol Vinukant Homkar wished all the surrendering Maoists well and welcomed them to the mainstream of the society.

He said that due to increasing presence of Police and CRPF forces and wrong policies of Maoist organizations, these members have run away from their squads and have surrendered to the security forces.

Dozens of cases like attempt to murder and Arms Act are registered against them.

All of them have been active in Maoist squads for 10 years and were working for Anmol squad.
