BJP Wins 8 Seats in Jharkhand, JMM and Congress Secure 2 Each
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Ranchi erupted in celebrations as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossed the majority mark in the Lok Sabha elections, securing a third consecutive term in power.
RANCHI – BJP workers at the party’s state office in Jharkhand were overjoyed as the NDA achieved a clear majority in the Lok Sabha polls.
Expressing gratitude to the people of the country, Jharkhand Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri thanked the public for bringing the NDA back to power for the third time.
When asked about the five seats in Jharkhand where the BJP is facing potential defeat, Bauri emphasized that the current focus is on celebrations, and discussions regarding the losses will take place later.
In Jharkhand, the BJP has emerged victorious in eight seats, including Godda, Chatra, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Jamshedpur, and Palamu.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has secured wins in two seats – Rajmahal and Singhbhum.
The Congress party has also managed to claim victory in two constituencies, namely Khunti and Lohardaga.
The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) has won the Giridih seat, marking a significant achievement for the party.
The counting process is still ongoing in the Dumka constituency, where a close contest is unfolding between JMM candidate Nalin Soren and BJP candidate Sita Soren.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won a total of 11 seats in Jharkhand, while the AJSU had secured one seat.
The current election results indicate a shift in the political landscape of the state, with the BJP losing ground and regional parties like the JMM and AJSU making notable gains.
