Arun Joshi seeks inclusion of Ayodhya Dham as a halt for train number 18103 in letter to GM, SER
Arun Kumar Joshi, a member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of South Eastern Railway (SER), has written to the General Manager of SER, requesting the inclusion of Ayodhya Dham junction as a stoppage for train number 18103 Tata Amritsar Jalianwala Bagh Express.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a bid to facilitate seamless connectivity for passengers, Arun Kumar Joshi, ZRUCC member of South Eastern Railway, has urged the General Manager of SER to consider making Ayodhya Dham junction a designated stop for the Tata Amritsar Jalianwala Bagh Express (train number 18103).
Mr. Joshi, in his letter dated 15.06.2024, highlighted that the train currently does not halt at Ayodhya Dham junction, causing inconvenience to the passengers traveling to and from this station.
He pointed out that the train’s route traverses through Ayodhya Dham, making it an ideal location for a stoppage to cater to the needs of the local populace and devotees visiting the holy city.

The ZRUCC member emphasized that the inclusion of Ayodhya Dham as a halt would greatly benefit a significant number of passengers, particularly the 12 districts surrounding the station.
Mr. Joshi further requested the General Manager to conduct a survey to assess the feasibility and potential impact of introducing a stoppage at Ayodhya Dham junction for the convenience of the travelers.
The letter also underscored the importance of providing convenient access to pilgrims and tourists who visit Ayodhya Dham, a place of immense religious significance.
Shashank Shekhar Swain, a member of the Indian Railways Fan Club and a rail, aviation and space enthusiast, backed the idea. He said: “By incorporating Ayodhya Dham as a designated stop for the Tata Amritsar Jalianwala Bagh Express, the South Eastern Railway would be taking a proactive step towards enhancing the overall travel experience for its passengers.”
He further added: “Mr. Joshi’s request to the General Manager of SER reflects the ZRUCC’s commitment to representing the interests of railway users and working towards the continuous improvement of rail services in the region.”
