JAMSHEDPUR – Bhavna Bohra, MLA from Pandaria in Chhattisgarh, launched a scathing critique against Jharkhand’s Health Minister Banna Gupta and the state government, questioning why Jharkhand residents must seek education and medical treatment outside the state even after 24 years of its formation.
In a press conference in Jamshedpur, Bohra highlighted the exodus of students seeking higher education opportunities outside Jharkhand, asking, “Why, after 24 years, are students forced to leave for higher education? Why must patients go outside Jharkhand for treatment?”
She expressed optimism that the upcoming assembly election will bring an NDA government to power, moving the state forward under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Concerns on Women’s Safety and Rising Infiltration
Bohra voiced concerns about the status of women’s safety in Jharkhand, describing it as a “major issue” with rising incidents of crime.
She claimed an increase in infiltrators in the state over the past five years, leading to demographic shifts that she compared to changes in Manipur and Bangladesh.
“Are we turning Jharkhand into another Bangladesh or Manipur?” Bohra asked, attributing the issue to the current government’s focus on vote-bank politics.
Business Community’s Fear of Banna Gupta
Former BJP district president Vinod Singh added to the criticisms, alleging that Jamshedpur’s business community lives in fear of Banna Gupta, with many businessmen reportedly imprisoned.
He further accused Gupta of blocking public access to Kadma roads and closing off fields in Sonari, once open for the elderly to walk.
Singh also claimed that the government has resettled Bangladeshi infiltrators in Sonari’s cemetery area to strengthen its vote bank.
Both Bohra and Singh called for change, arguing that Jharkhand’s progress depends on new leadership dedicated to education, security, and sustainable development.
