Seven-Day Summer Camp Begins at Jamshedpur Workers College

Principal Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik Emphasizes Importance of Holistic Development

A seven-day summer camp commenced at Jamshedpur Workers College on Friday, inaugurated by the college’s principal, Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik, who highlighted the importance of holistic development alongside academic learning.

JAMSHEDPUR – A seven-day summer camp kicked off at Jamshedpur Workers College on Friday, with Principal Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik inaugurating the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Mahalik stressed the importance of activities beyond the academic curriculum for the all-round development of students. He emphasized that summer camps are a vital source of knowledge acquisition apart from regular studies.

Prof. Harendra Pandit, the coordinator of the program, provided details about the various activities scheduled for the camp. He was joined by Prof. Anilchandra Das, Prof. Subhashchandra Das, and Prof. Shobha Muwal, who also shared their insights.

The program was conducted by Prof. Harendra Pandit, and Dr. Wazda Tabassum, the program in-charge, delivered the vote of thanks.

The second session featured a workshop on personality development, where Principal Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik discussed various aspects of personality enhancement. Using examples of well-known personalities, Dr. Mahalik asserted that qualities, rather than physical appearance, are the true measures of success. He encouraged students to prioritize traits like confidence, sociability, politeness, and positive thinking.

"Confidence, sociability, politeness, and positive thoughts make tasks easier to accomplish," Dr. Mahalik noted.

The event saw participation from Dr. Amarendra Singh, Dr. Anil Chandra Pathak, Prof. Subhash Chandra Das, Dr. Sangeeta Kumari, Prof. Rafia Begum, Dr. Monideepa Das, Dr. Meetu Ahuja, other faculty members, and students.

On Sunday, the second day of the camp, workshops on yoga, sports, spoken English, and resume writing are scheduled. The camp will run daily from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm until June 13.
