In a historic turn of events, BJP’s Bidyut Baran Mahto has achieved an unparalleled feat by winning the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive time, surpassing his nearest rival by a staggering margin of over 3 lakh votes.
JAMSHEDPUR – Bidyut Baran Mahto, the BJP candidate, has etched his name in the annals of Jamshedpur’s political history by becoming the first-ever Member of Parliament to secure a hat-trick victory in the prestigious Lok Sabha seat.
Mahto’s resounding triumph came as he outshined his closest competitor, Samir Mohanty from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), by an astounding margin exceeding 3 lakh votes.
This unprecedented achievement sets a new benchmark in Jamshedpur’s electoral landscape, where no previous MP had managed to clinch three consecutive wins.

Milestone Victory
Mahto’s remarkable feat establishes a fresh standard for future candidates aspiring to represent the esteemed parliamentary constituency.
Prominent figures like Shailendra Mahato and Abha Mahato had previously secured victories twice, but fell short of achieving a hat-trick.
Shailendra Mahato of JMM emerged triumphant in the 1989 and 1991 elections, while Abha Mahato of BJP tasted success in 1998 and 1999.
Celebrations Across Steel City
As the counting process commenced, the BJP camp near Jamshedpur Co-operative College witnessed fervent celebrations by enthusiastic supporters rejoicing Mahto’s early lead.
Party workers ignited crackers and grooved to the rhythms of dhols, as the crowd swelled with each successive round of counting.
The BJP office in Sakchi was abuzz with activities, while party flags proudly fluttered in areas such as Jugsalai, Burmamines, Sakchi, Bistupur, and Sidhgora.
Attributing the Victory

Sudhanshu Ojha, the district BJP president, credited the victory to the unwavering efforts of party workers and the charismatic leadership and developmental vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Satbir Singh Somu, a senior leader of BJP’s youth wing, reiterated that Mahto’s win demonstrates the unwavering trust people have placed in the party.
Mahto conveyed his gratitude to the voters, attributing his success to the capable guidance of Narendra Modi.
JMM Concedes Defeat
Meanwhile, the JMM camp remained somber in the aftermath of the defeat, with party leaders visibly disheartened by the outcome.
A district leader of JMM acknowledged the pivotal role played by the “Modi factor” in shaping the election results.
The party’s senior leadership is poised to conduct a thorough review of the performance and identify the factors that contributed to the loss.
