Jamshedpur Braces for Election Results Amid Heightened Anticipation
BJP and JMM Prepare Grand Celebrations, Confident of Victory
As the countdown to the election counting nears its conclusion, Jamshedpur finds itself enveloped in an atmosphere of intense anticipation and excitement, with contestants and their supporters eagerly speculating about the political fortunes sealed within the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) securely stored in the strong rooms of Jamshedpur Co-operative College.
JAMSHEDPUR – The arch-rival political parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), are getting ready for big celebrations in anticipation of the poll verdict expected tomorrow, as they compete for the highly sought-after Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat.
Both parties have thoroughly prepared for the expected victory, gathering decorations, fireworks, and sweets to celebrate the occasion.
Modi Wave Boosts BJP’s Confidence
Sudhanshu Ojha, the BJP district president, expressed optimism about the party’s chances, attributing it to the widespread popularity of Modi’s leadership. He mentioned the exit polls that predict a significant win for the BJP nationwide, and he thinks that Jamshedpur will also follow this trend.
"Based on the reports we have received from the constituency, it is with great confidence that Ojha asserts that BJP candidate Bidyut Baran Mahto will emerge as the triumphant winner," Ojha stated. The party has set up an LED screen near the counting venue to keep track of the poll results and has carefully organized a victory procession from Jubilee Park to the BJP office near Basant Talkies in Sakchi.
JMM Equally Enthusiastic
JMM activists are filled with excitement, as a senior party leader emphasizes the strong competition from their candidate, Samir Mohanty, and the trust people have in Hemant Soren’s leadership.
"Our candidate is poised for success in tomorrow’s counting exercise," he confidently declared. The JMM has organized a celebratory parade with a beautifully decorated open jeep, allowing their candidate to personally thank the voters for their support. Party units in different locations are also ready to celebrate in their own areas.
The district administration is fully prepared.
Tight security measures have been implemented at the Jamshedpur Co-operative College, which has been designated as the counting center for the Lok Sabha elections, by the Jamshedpur district administration.
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-Election Officer for Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency, Ananya Mittal, shared with the media that the administration building where the EVMs are kept has been designated as a ‘no-communication zone’ and is closely monitored by 44 CCTVs.
The counting process is anticipated to take more than five hours, spanning across 23 rounds. It will involve a dedicated team of over 1,000 polling personnel, including counting supervisors, counting assistants, micro-observers, and six assistant returning officers.
