Hemant Soren Files Bail Petition in Jharkhand High Court After Supreme Court Withdrawal
Former Jharkhand CM Seeks Early Hearing on Bail Plea, Citing Illegal Arrest by ED
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has moved to the Jharkhand High Court with a bail petition after withdrawing his plea from the Supreme Court.
RANCHI – Following his decision to withdraw his bail petition from the Supreme Court, Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has now filed a bail petition in the Jharkhand High Court with the assistance of his lawyer on Monday.
Soren has asked the High Court to speed up the hearing of his bail request.
We’ll have to wait and see if the court will agree to his request for an early hearing.
In a disappointing turn of events, the civil court has rejected Soren’s bail petition.
Later, he took his case to the Jharkhand High Court, contending that his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was unlawful.
The High Court has kept its decision on hold after listening to the case.
Meanwhile, Soren also requested bail from the Supreme Court.
However, during the Supreme Court hearing, the judges were not pleased with lawyer Kapil Sibal for supposedly hiding facts related to the case.
When confronted with the potential dismissal of the petition, Sibal acknowledged his error and decided to withdraw it.
Currently, everyone is eagerly awaiting the decision of the Jharkhand High Court regarding Soren’s request for bail.
