Mango Municipal Corporation Announces Tax Relief for Timely Payments

Residents to Enjoy Up to 15% Discount on Holding Tax Paid Before June 30

The Mango Municipal Corporation has announced a significant relief measure for residents, offering discounts of up to 15% on holding tax payments made before June 30.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Mango Municipal Corporation has announced a significant relief measure for residents, offering discounts of up to 15% on holding tax payments made before June 30.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Additional Municipal Commissioner Ranjit Lohra at the Mango Municipal Corporation office, which focused on revenue collection strategies and the importance of timely tax payments from residents.

Under the incentive scheme, taxpayers who opt for home visits by tax collectors and settle their dues will be eligible for a 5% rebate.

Those who choose to pay their taxes in person at the office will receive a 2.5% discount, while an extra 5% concession will be granted for payments made through online channels.

Special consideration will be given to certain demographics within the Mango Municipal Corporation area, with women, senior citizens, disabled individuals, third-gender individuals, and those serving in Indian service sectors pertaining to water and air receiving an additional 5% discount.

The meeting also addressed the exemption of land tenure tax for buildings measuring up to 350 square feet, although these structures will still undergo assessment procedures.

The Mango Municipal Corporation’s decision to offer these discounts and exemptions aims to encourage timely tax payments and provide relief to residents, especially those belonging to specific demographics.

By incentivizing prompt payments and offering multiple payment options, the corporation hopes to streamline revenue collection and ensure the smooth functioning of municipal services.

Residents are urged to take advantage of these discounts by settling their holding tax dues before the June 30 deadline, either through home visits by tax collectors, in-person payments at the office, or online channels.

The Mango Municipal Corporation remains committed to the welfare of its residents and the efficient management of its financial resources.
