Thieves Steal Rs 40,000 from Bike Trunk Near Punjab National Bank in Bokaro

Malfunctioning CCTV Camera Hinders Identification of Culprits, Police Investigate

In a shocking incident, thieves made off with a bag containing Rs 40,000 from the trunk of a bike parked near the Punjab National Bank in the Jaridih market area of Gandhinagar, Bokaro district.

BOKARO – Bhaskar Singh, a resident of Gandhinagar, fell victim to theft when he left a bag filled with cash in his bike’s trunk while visiting the Punjab National Bank in Jaridih market to deposit money.

Due to the crowded conditions inside the bank, Singh decided to leave the bag in the trunk and attend to some work nearby.

Seizing the opportunity, unidentified miscreants swiftly stole the bag, which contained a total of Rs 40,000, from the trunk of Singh’s parked bike.

Unfortunately, the CCTV camera installed in front of the bank was malfunctioning at the time of the incident, making it difficult for authorities to identify the faces of the thieves.

Upon learning about the theft, Singh lodged a complaint with the Gandhinagar police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police are currently gathering evidence and examining any available footage from nearby security cameras to identify and apprehend the culprits.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents about the safety of their valuables, especially when leaving them unattended in vehicles, even for a short period.

The malfunctioning of the CCTV camera has also highlighted the need for regular maintenance and checks of security systems in and around banks and other public places.

The Gandhinagar police have assured the public that they are taking the incident seriously and are making every effort to trace the stolen money and bring the perpetrators to justice.

As a precautionary measure, the police have advised citizens to remain vigilant and avoid leaving valuable items unattended in vehicles, especially in crowded areas.

The incident serves as a reminder for people to prioritize the safety of their belongings and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.
