Home Guard jawans apprehend two bike thieves at MGM Hospital parking lot, linked to previous thefts at the site.
JAMSHEDPUR – On Thursday morning, Home Guard jawans apprehended two individuals suspected of stealing motorcycles from the parking lot of MGM Hospital, a key government healthcare facility in Kolhan.
The suspects, identified as D Mahato and P Mahato from Adityapur, were caught in the act.
Home Guard Naveen Kumar Singh reported that bike thefts had been recurrent at MGM Hospital, with two incidents already reported this month.
Acting on suspicion, the jawans intercepted the thieves while they attempted to steal a bike, aided by CCTV footage.
It was confirmed that these were the same individuals involved in previous thefts in the hospital’s parking area.
The suspects have been handed over to Sakchi police for further legal proceedings.
The owner of the stolen bike, Mohammad Firoz, was present at the scene during the apprehension.
"The swift action by our jawans has helped in curbing the menace of bike thefts at the hospital," said Naveen Kumar Singh.
This incident underscores the importance of vigilance and the effective use of surveillance technology in preventing crime.
