Jamshedpur Police Seize Counterfeit Liquor Worth Over Rs 2 Lakhs, Arrest Three Suspects

Extensive Investigation Underway as Police Remain Vigilant Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

In a major operation, the Jamshedpur Rural Police arrested three individuals in the Kamalpur police station area and seized 400 bottles of fake liquor, valued at more than Rs 2 lakhs, which were hidden in a car.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Rural Police made a significant breakthrough by apprehending Bittu Kumar Mahato, Amit Kumar, and Sachin Prasad, all hailing from different parts of Jamshedpur, and confiscating a substantial quantity of counterfeit alcohol concealed in a vehicle.

SSP Kishore Kaushal addressed the media on Tuesday, emphasizing the ongoing comprehensive investigation in light of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and the police force’s commitment to thwarting the illegal transport of contraband, including liquor, money, and drugs.

The successful raid, prompted by confidential information, led to the arrests and the recovery of the fake liquor, which consisted of various brands traced back to operations in the Bodam police station area, resulting in the extension of police operations to that region.

The police are currently pursuing one individual who has evaded arrest in connection with the case, with efforts underway to apprehend the fugitive.

Investigations have revealed that the seized counterfeit liquor was intended for consumption during the elections, underscoring the nefarious motives behind the smuggling operation.

The crackdown on the illegal liquor trade serves as a testament to the police force’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring free and fair elections in the region.

As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to uncover the full extent of the counterfeit liquor network and bring all those involved to justice, sending a strong message against such illicit activities, particularly during the sensitive election period.
