RANCHI – In a significant development in the land scam case linked to former chief minister Hemant Soren, the PMLA court has sent Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Antu Tirkey and four others to Birsa Munda Central Jail.
The group was detained following allegations of manipulating official records pertaining to an 8.5-acre plot in the Badagai area of Ranchi.
All individuals involved have been placed in judicial custody at the facility located in Hotwar.
This case gained traction in March when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the Badgai zonal office in Ranchi.
The raid unveiled extensive falsification of land documents, leading to the seizure of multiple fraudulent documents by the ED.
Afsar Ali, identified by the ED as the ringleader of this illicit operation, was found in possession of 36 counterfeit land documents at his residence.
Further crucial paperwork linked to these fake documents was confiscated from the zonal office during the raid.
