Jamshedpur Officials Crack Down on Illicit Liquor in Major Raid

Dhalbhum SDO Joins Excise Department in Seizing Java Mahua and Illicit Liquor

A major raid by the Dhalbhum Sub-Division and the Jamshedpur Excise Department has led to significant seizures of illicit liquor and Java Mahua in two distinct operations within the district.

JAMSHEDPUR – A substantial crackdown on illicit alcohol production was executed in Jamshedpur, resulting in the confiscation of Java Mahua and illicit liquor from multiple locations.

In an extensive operation, officials stormed into Oraon Basti under Sitaramdera police station, discovering a large stash of illegal liquor at the residence of Durga Saav, who is now facing legal action.

Following the operation in Oraon Basti, the team conducted a raid in the remote forests of Sukhalda, where they found 40 drums of Java Mahua in hidden furnaces, leading to the dismantling of these illegal sites.

Legal proceedings were swiftly initiated against Mantu Mahato and Dukhu Mahato, the operators of the illicit liquor furnaces discovered during the operation.

The raid, led by Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer Parul Singh and Assistant Commissioner of Excise RL Ravani, was prompted by undisclosed intelligence.

Authorities from the Excise Department, accompanied by police, actively participated in the operations, emphasizing the collaborative effort to combat illegal alcohol production.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of local authorities to enforce laws against illegal alcohol production and distribution in the region.
