Jharkhand government implements sweeping measures to alleviate financial burdens and honor sacrifices.
RANCHI – The Jharkhand cabinet, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has approved a series of significant welfare measures, including a substantial power bill waiver and increased benefits for state employees.
In a landmark decision, the cabinet has greenlit the waiver of Rs 3,584 crore in electricity dues for nearly 39.44 lakh consumers.
This move is part of the 200-unit free electricity scheme under the Mukhyamantri Urja Khushali Yojana.
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel confirmed the decision, stating, "Following this cabinet approval, these consumers will no longer need to pay the arrear bills."
The government has also addressed the financial needs of its employees by increasing the dearness allowance from 230% to 239%.
This adjustment is expected to provide substantial relief to state employees, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to their welfare.
In a compassionate move, the cabinet has extended support to the families of martyred Agniveers.
These families will now receive financial assistance and government job opportunities, mirroring the benefits provided to Jharkhand Police personnel’s families.
Chief Minister Soren emphasized the government’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices of Agniveers and supporting their dependents.
The cabinet meeting resulted in the approval of 44 proposals, showcasing the government’s comprehensive approach to reform.
Soren reaffirmed his administration’s sensitivity towards various communities, including tribals, Dalits, and minorities.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to address social issues and provide relief to those in need.
The recent decisions underscore the government’s commitment to social justice and proactive approach in tackling economic challenges faced by the state’s residents.
