Mango Kalikanagar Hosts Week-Long Independence Day Sports Event

APJ Abdul Kalam High School leads celebrations with diverse competitions

A seven-day sports extravaganza in Mango Kalikanagar marks Independence Day with multiple events for local youth.

JAMSHEDPUR – APJ Abdul Kalam High School, Inter College, and Aman Welfare Society in Mango Kalikanagar are organizing a week-long sports competition to celebrate Independence Day.

The event will commence with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a quiz competition focusing on India’s freedom struggle.

An inter-colony football tournament is scheduled for August 16, showcasing local talent and fostering community spirit.

August 17 will feature a chess competition specifically for girls, promoting gender inclusivity in sports.

Athletics events and races are set to take place on August 18, offering a platform for track and field enthusiasts.

A cross-country run early on August 19 will challenge participants’ endurance and determination.

The sports festivities will conclude with an inter-school tennis ball cricket competition at the Church Ground on August 20.

Dr. Afroz Shakeel and Mohd. Tahir Hussain, presidents of the organizing committee, highlighted that this event has been a decade-long tradition.

All participating children will receive rewards, encouraging widespread participation and recognizing effort.

Schools across the Mango area have been invited to join this free competition, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.

The event is supported by organization members Rafat Ara and Raza Ahmed, with notable attendees including Sania, Farhat, Rizwan, and Salim.

This comprehensive sports program aims to celebrate national pride while promoting physical fitness and community bonding among local youth.
