KHUNTI – In Khunti Lok Sabha constituency, 9 out of 16 candidates’ nominations were cancelled after scrutiny.
16 candidates had filed nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Khunti.
During the scrutiny process on Friday, issues were found with the nominations of 9 candidates, leading to cancellations.
The remaining 7 candidates were declared eligible to contest in the elections.
Those eligible include notable figures such as Arjun Munda from the BJP and Kali Charan Munda from the Indian National Congress.
Other validated candidates are Savitri Devi from the Bahujan Samaj Party and Babita Kachhap from the Bharat Adivasi Party.
The list also includes Arpana Hans from the Jharkhand Party, and independents Basant Kumar Longa and Sanjay Kumar Tirkey.
Among those disqualified are Soma Munda from the Abu Jharkhand Party and Jaipal Munda from the Bhagidari Party (P).
Candidates from the Ambedkarite Party of India, including Samdom Gudiya and Samuel Purti, were also rejected.
Others whose nominations were cancelled are from a variety of parties including the People’s Party of India (Democratic) and the Lokhit Adhikar Party.
This scrutiny ensures that only qualified candidates will move forward to the election phase in Khunti.
