Cyber Fraudsters Trying to Exploit Jamshedpur DC’s Identity Online

Fake Facebook ID of Jamshedpur DC Used to Deceive Users

Cybercriminals have escalated their tactics by impersonating Ananya Mittal, the District Commissioner of Jamshedpur, using a fraudulent Facebook ID to target citizens.

JAMSHEDPUR – The digital sphere has seen a disturbing new development as cybercriminals create a fake Facebook profile for Ananya Mittal, Jamshedpur’s District Commissioner, to con people.

This impersonation includes attempts to sell household items under the guise of being the DC.

The messages, riddled with grammatical errors, clearly indicate the sender’s lack of proficiency in English, making the fraud somewhat detectable to wary individuals.

The local administration, alerted to these fraudulent activities, has begun tackling the issue head-on.

DC Ananya Mittal has issued a public statement warning citizens against these deceptive practices and has urged anyone approached by such impostors to report immediately to the authorities.

The police are actively investigating the fraudulent account to prevent further exploitation.

In recent times, several cyber fraud cases relating to Jamshedpur have come to light and quite a few arrests have also been made.

Officials say this case serves as a stark reminder of the evolving nature of cyber threats and the importance of vigilance in digital interactions.
