Pragati Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir Celebrates Hindu New Year and Hedgewar’s Birth Anniversary
School Hosts Festivities Honoring Religious and Cultural Significance of the Day
The Pragati Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir school in Birsanagar celebrated the ‘Vikram Samvat 2081 Hindu New Year and the birth anniversary of the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar ji’ with great enthusiasm on Tuesday.
JAMSHEDPUR – The day began with students and teachers of the school participating in a Prabhat Pheri, accompanied by the ‘Ghosh Dals’, to raise awareness about the importance of their religion and the Hindu New Year.
Following the Prabhat Pheri, the school hosted a series of programs, inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Hari Om Aggarwal, an alumnus of S.S.V.M. Bagbeda School and student head of Jamshedpur metropolis, along with the school’s President, Mr. Bhola Kumar Mandal, Vice President, Mr. V. Jaishankar, and Principal, Mr. Abhilash Giri.
The Principal introduced the guests, and the Chairman honored the chief guest with a gala, after which the students presented a song highlighting the plight of the motherland and the darkness that once engulfed the country.
Acharya Leena Nayyar explained the significance of Vikram Samvat and the Hindu New Year to the students, followed by a patriotic song performed by the students, emphasizing that every child in the country is like Ram.
In his speech, the chief guest delved into the depth of Hindu culture and the importance of the day, noting that it marks the creation of the universe by Brahma ji 156 crore years ago, the coronation of King Shri Ramchandra ji and Yudhishthir ji, the establishment of Vikram Samvat by King Vikramaditya ji, and the beginning of the Hindu calendar.
He also mentioned that the day coincides with the founding of ‘Arya Samaj’ by Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji, the birthday of Saint Jhulelal, and the birth anniversary of the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr. Baliram Hedgewar ji.
The program, conducted by Acharya Shri Anjay Modi under the guidance of program heads Acharya Arun Bansal and Manoj Das, concluded with a vote of thanks by Acharya Arun Bansal, the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, and the distribution of Prasad to the students.
