Speeding Car Kills Two Youths in Lalpur, Ranchi

A devastating road accident in the Lalpur police station area of Ranchi results in the death of two young scooter riders after being hit by a speeding car.

RANCHI – In a tragic incident late Saturday night in the capital Ranchi, two young men lost their lives in a road accident involving their scooter and a speeding car.

The accident occurred between the Press Club and the Lokayukta office, where an uncontrolled vehicle collided with the scooter, resulting in immediate fatality for one rider and critical injuries for the other, who later died en route to the hospital.

Local residents and police intervened to transport the victims to RIMS, where both were pronounced dead by medical professionals.

The deceased have been identified as Anuj Kumar, aged 27, and Ankush Kumar, aged 25.

Lalpur police have confiscated the vehicle involved in the crash, which took place as the youths were maneuvering their scooter near the Lokayukta office.

According to Adikant Mahato, the in-charge at Lalpur police station, the car, traveling at high speed towards Karamtoli, lost control and struck the scooter.

Following the collision, the driver of the car attempted to flee but was apprehended by locals, while other occupants managed to escape amidst the chaos.

The vehicle has been seized by the police, and investigations are ongoing.

Anuj Kumar hailed from Garhwa, and Ankush Kumar was a resident of JP Road, Kanke Road, Ranchi.
