Jamshedpur Police Undergo Basic Life Support Workshop by Manipal Tata Medical College
In a collaborative effort to enhance emergency response capabilities, the East Singhbhum Police Department, in partnership with Manipal Tata Medical College, Jamshedpur, has rolled out a Basic Life Support (BLS) training workshop for its officers. The initiative, aimed at equipping police personnel with essential lifesaving skills, underscores the importance of first responders in critical situations.
JAMSHEDPUR – Manipal Tata Medical College, in collaboration with the East Singhbhum Police Department, has introduced a Basic Life Support (BLS) training program specifically designed for police officers in the region.
The initiative was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Kishore Kaushal, SSP of East Singhbhum, and Dr. Astha Raman, an anaesthesiologist and alumnus of KMC Manipal, under the guidance of Dr. G Pradeep Kumar, Dean of MTMC.
Recognizing that police officers are often the first on the scene during emergencies, the workshop aims to provide them with critical skills to save lives before medical professionals arrive.
SSP Kishore Kaushal emphasized the significance of BLS training for police personnel, highlighting their role as initial lifesavers in emergency scenarios.
The training session was conducted at the skills laboratory of Manipal Tata Medical College and was overseen by a team of medical professionals including Dr. Ayaskant Sahoo, Dr. Shyamal Maity, Dr. Anjaneyulu Konuri, Dr. RajKiran Takharya, Dr. Ravi Kaushal, Dr. Jyotish Guria, and Dr. Ratnesh Sinha.
A total of 29 police staff members participated in the workshop, with plans underway to extend this vital training to more officers in the Jamshedpur area.
Upon completion, each participating officer received a training certificate from Dr. Astha Raman, further marking the importance of this life-saving initiative.
