NCC Unit Debuts at NIT Jamshedpur

National Cadet Corps inaugurated at NIT Jamshedpur, fostering leadership and patriotism.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur celebrated the inauguration of its National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit today, an event marked by enthusiasm and national spirit.

JAMSHEDPUR – The ceremony was officiated by Colonel Vinay Ahuja of the 37 Jharkhand Battalion NCC and NIT Director Professor Goutam Sutradhar.

Established under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948, the NCC aims to develop disciplined and patriotic citizens through diverse programs.

Colonel Ahuja discussed the NCC’s benefits, including leadership skills, character development, career opportunities, and the ease it provides in army recruitment through the ‘C’ certificate.

Professor Sutradhar highlighted the NCC unit’s alignment with the New Education Policy 2020 and pledged the institute’s support for its activities.

Dignitaries present included Lieutenant Colonel Gaurav Kumar Mishra, Deputy Director Prof. RB Sharma, and other esteemed members from the academic and military community.

The NCC unit at NIT Jamshedpur is set to nurture leadership, discipline, and a sense of national duty among students, in line with the institute’s educational goals.

This new chapter in NIT Jamshedpur’s history underscores a commitment to enhancing student experiences and contributing to nation-building.
