Private Tuition Ban Sought in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur Parents Association demands a ban on private school teachers offering tuitions.

In Jamshedpur, a plea to prohibit private school teachers from conducting private tuitions emerges as over 2000 students fail classes 9 and 11, highlighting a significant educational concern.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Parents Association has voiced a significant concern over the failure of more than 2000 students in private schools across classes 9 and 11.

They have pinpointed private tuition by school teachers as a key factor contributing to these failures.

In a memorandum to the District Education Superintendent cum Nodal Officer, the association has demanded a ban on such tuitions.

They cite Section 28 of the RTE Act 2009, which prohibits school teachers from engaging in private tuition activities.

Union President Dr. Umesh Kumar emphasized that this practice leads to an unfair advantage for students attending these tuitions.

According to him, teachers focus more on tuition students, providing them with superior notes that often match exam questions.

This practice has made tuition almost a necessity for success, undermining the actual educational foundation of students.

The association’s demand is grounded in the need to ensure equal educational opportunities for all students, as per the provisions of the RTE Act.

This initiative aims to address the imbalance and prioritize the educational integrity within the city’s private schools.
