SERAIKELA – Burglars broke into a woman teacher’s house in Seraikela. They stole cash and jewelry worth Rs 16 lakh.
The incident occurred at Chhota Sijulta village. The village is located near Hata area. Surekha Satpathy works as a teacher.
The family had locked their house. They left at 11:30 am for Imperial Hotel. Nephew Suraj Nanda’s engagement ceremony was the occasion.
However, thieves struck during their absence. The burglars broke open the main door. They also smashed the almirah completely.
The family returned home around 5 pm. They found the door wide open. The almirah was broken into pieces.
Moreover, jewelry boxes lay scattered everywhere. All boxes were empty. Cash amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh was missing.
“We discovered the theft immediately upon returning,” Satpathy stated. Valuable ornaments had been stolen systematically. The total loss exceeded Rs 16 lakh.
In addition, the family informed Rajnagar police station. Officers rushed to the crime scene promptly. They initiated a detailed investigation immediately.
Furthermore, police are examining nearby CCTV cameras. Footage from surrounding areas is being analyzed. Investigators hope to identify the culprits soon.
The burglars had planned the operation carefully. They knew the family’s absence schedule. The theft was executed methodically.
