JAMSHEDPUR – In a dramatic turn of events, workers from the BJP and Congress parties engaged in a fierce confrontation outside the Parsudih police station in Jamshedpur, marking a significant escalation in political tensions amidst election preparations.
The altercation erupted when a BJP worker was photographed by a Congress worker while removing the party symbol from a poster, sparking controversy and leading to the clash.
The Congress party worker from Parsudih, captured the moment a BJP’s worker was dismantling a party propaganda board, which intensified the dispute between the two.
The fight escalated quickly, with workers from both parties using belts and sticks in the brawl on the main road, just outside the police station.
Parsudih police in-charge Mohammad Faiz Ahmed and his team intervened, bringing the conflicting groups into the police station to de-escalate the situation.
Inside the police station premises, the drama continued for about an hour as representatives from both sides refused to back down.
The BJP’s district president and an MP representative arrived at the Parsudih police station, advocating for legal action against Congress worker and his associate.
This incident underscores the heightened political activity and tensions in the region, as parties vie for support through various festival programs and community engagements amidst the enforcement of the election code of conduct.
