Sita Soren Resigns from JMM, Alleging Neglect and Conspiracy
Shibu Soren’s Elder Daughter-in-Law and MLA Quits Party and Family
In a significant development ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Sita Soren, the elder daughter-in-law of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder and president Shibu Soren, has announced her decision to leave the party and the family, citing neglect and a conspiracy against her.
RANCHI – Sita Soren, the wife of Shibu Soren’s late son Durga Soren and a former central general secretary of JMM, has submitted her resignation letter to Shibu Soren, relinquishing all her posts within the party.
In her letter, Sita Soren alleged that she had been facing neglect since the demise of her husband Durga Soren in 2009, and blamed the party and family members for her isolation. Despite Shibu Soren’s efforts to keep the family united, Sita Soren expressed her disappointment, stating that the situation did not improve over time.
Resignation Triggered by Cabinet Exclusion and Sister-in-Law’s Rising Status
Sita Soren’s decision to quit the party is believed to have been triggered by her exclusion from the cabinet of the new Chief Minister Champai Soren following the arrest of Hemant Soren, as well as the increasing status of her sister-in-law Kalpana Soren within the party.
Political Implications and Opposition’s Attacks Expected
Political experts suggest that Sita Soren’s resignation from JMM is likely to have significant political implications, with the party potentially suffering serious losses. Opposition parties are expected to attack JMM’s morality regarding the development, as they had been trying to separate Sita Soren from the party for several months.
