Emphasizes Compliance with Model Code of Conduct and Guidelines for Election Campaign Material
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal chaired a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties and operators of printing presses at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur to ensure compliance with the model code of conduct and provide necessary guidelines regarding election campaign material for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
JAMSHEDPUR – The meeting, aimed at organizing the elections in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner, was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon, and others.
During the meeting, representatives of political parties were informed about the model code of conduct, candidates’ election expenditure, and the online system for immediate disposal of election-related complaints.
The District Election Officer emphasized the importance of adhering to the model code of conduct, refraining from hate speech and rumors, and seeking permission for organizing public meetings and rallies at designated places.
Encourages Voter List Verification and Registration
The District Election Officer urged political parties to ensure that their members’ names are included in the voter list by checking through various mediums, such as BLOs, the online Voter Helpline App, Voters Service Portal, or by calling 1950. He encouraged the submission of Form 6 for name registration and Form 8 for corrections in case of any discrepancies or errors in the voter list.
Guidelines for Printing Press Operators
Addressing the printing press operators, the District Election Officer instructed them to maintain complete records of the promotional material printed for the elections.
He asked the printers to share information regarding posters, pamphlets, or other campaign materials, including the name of the printer, publisher, quantities, and any authorized person from the candidates or political parties, with the District Election Office.
