Jamshedpur DEO Holds Meet with Political Parties, Discusses Poll Preparation

District Officials Enforce Election Protocols for Upcoming Votes

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Jamshedpur district is vigorously implementing measures to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process, as mandated by the Election Commission. An intensive approach to election management is evident from the district administration’s efforts.

JAMSHEDPUR – A crucial coordination meeting was conducted under the leadership of Ananya Mittal, Jamshedpur District Election Officer, with the participation of political party representatives.

The gathering took place in the district office where pivotal electoral procedures were discussed, including the two-phase randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

EVM Management and Security

The process for EVM allocation includes a first phase on April 24, where the machines are sorted assembly wise, and a subsequent phase on May 10, assigning them to specific polling booths.

This meticulous planning ensures each EVM is correctly placed to prevent any discrepancies.

Logistical Arrangements

Post-randomization, the EVMs are transferred securely to designated dispatch centers at LBSM and Co-operative College.

These centers cater to different assembly constituencies like Baharagora, Ghatsila, Potka, and the three Jamshedpur areas.

On May 24, EVMs are relocated to an intermediate strong room in their respective clusters where they remain under strict surveillance until Election Day.

On polling day, May 25, the teams responsible for polling will transport the EVMs from the clusters to the booths on foot, ensuring security and protocol adherence throughout.

Additional measures include mandatory presence of political party representatives at various stages, including the initial and intermediate strong rooms and during the mock polls.

Compliance and Oversight

In addition to EVM logistics, the meeting underscored the importance of adhering to the Model Code of Conduct, emphasizing pre-certification of campaign materials and maintaining detailed election expenditure records.

Senior officials from MCC and MCMC Cell were present to reinforce these guidelines, aiming for absolute compliance from all political entities.

In conclusion, the electoral preparations in Jamshedpur highlight the district’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the Lok Sabha elections through meticulous planning and strict protocol enforcement.
