Jamshedpur DEO Urges Voters to Ensure Receipt of Voter Information Slips Before Deadline

Voters in Jamshedpur Advised to Use Hotline for Missing Slips, Detailed Guides Distributed

District Election Officer Ananya Mittal calls for Jamshedpur residents to check for their voter information slips, offering a complaint hotline for any discrepancies.

JAMSHEDPUR – With the final day for the distribution of voter information slips on May 18, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has issued a call to action for residents who have yet to receive their slips.

Since May 7, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been delivering these slips door-to-door across the district.

For those who have not received their slips, Mittal has provided a toll-free complaint hotline at 1950.

The BLOs will ensure delivery upon receiving complaints.

Mittal highlighted the importance of achieving 100% voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Voters are encouraged to check their slips, which include critical information such as part number, name in the electoral roll, serial number, polling station name, voting date, and a QR code for easy access.

On the reverse side, the slip provides a map of the polling station, BLO contact information, alternative voting document options, and other vital instructions.

Colorful voter guides are also being distributed, offering an overview of the voting process with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

These guides include details about the Election Commission of India’s initiatives like the Saksham-ECI App, Voter Helpline App, Know Your Candidate App, and C-Vigil App.

The guides also educate voters on registration procedures, the option to vote from home for disabled individuals and senior citizens, and the postal ballot facility.

Mittal emphasized that BLOs have been instructed to hand over the slips only to the voter or a family member, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

These efforts aim to empower every voter with the necessary information for a successful voting experience.

Residents, whether in urban or rural areas, are being equipped with essential details to facilitate their participation in the democratic process.
