JAMSHEDPUR — Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan presided over the Jan Shikayat Niwaran Diwas at the Samaharalaya office complex, where a large number of residents from various parts of the district presented their personal and public grievances.
The complaints received during the session covered a wide range of civic and social issues. These included problems related to ration cards, mistreatment of patients at dialysis units in the district, and inhumane behaviour by sons and daughters-in-law towards elderly parents.
Other complaints pertained to enrolment under the Right to Education Act in private schools, loan approvals under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, and repair of water towers. In addition, residents raised issues about construction of permanent drains, encroachment on private land, and issuance of death certificates.
Further complaints addressed banking-related problems, property mutation, compensation payments, medical assistance, and installation of electricity poles across the Jamshedpur district.
Taking all the cases seriously, DC Ranjanthat instructed the concerned departmental officials to investigate each complaint. He directed them to ensure prompt and time-bound action in accordance with applicable rules.
He said the primary objective of the Jan Shikayat Niwaran Diwas was the speedy resolution of public grievances. He further said all officials must handle complaints with sensitivity and responsiveness.
The DC made it clear that the administration was committed to addressing the problems of ordinary citizens. He stated that negligence of any kind in the disposal of complaints would not be acceptable.
He also emphasised that the grievance redressal programme provides citizens a direct platform to place their problems before the administration. This, he noted, was aimed at making the resolution process more effective and responsive.
The Jan Shikayat Niwaran Diwas is a regular mechanism under which the East Singhbhum district administration engages directly with the public to resolve pending complaints. Officials from various departments were present during the session to receive and address the complaints on the spot wherever possible.
