Rooftop Restaurants Flout Laws in Jamshedpur

112 unauthorized rooftop restaurants operate in Jamshedpur, causing noise and safety concerns

Jamshedpur faces a surge in unauthorized rooftop restaurants, with complaints of noise disturbances and safety violations.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has identified 112 rooftop restaurants operating without the necessary legal approvals, sparking concerns over noise pollution and safety.

Despite repeated complaints from residents about noise late into the night, enforcement actions by the authorities have been lacking.

These unauthorized establishments have mushroomed in areas such as Bistupur Main Road, Kadma Uliyan, and Sonari Domuhani, among others, disrupting residential peace and flouting safety norms.

Officials note that none of these venues have secured the required registrations, operating in violation of local regulations.

The lack of sound insulation at these rooftop restaurants means that loud music is a common problem for nearby residents.

Most importantly, these establishments frequently disregard safety protocols, using cooking equipment and gas facilities without official permission, posing serious hazards.

This situation highlights a critical oversight in regulatory enforcement and calls for immediate action to address the violations and ensure community well-being.
