Tatanagar Station’s Escalator Woes Persist

Tatanagar station faces criticism for the lack of escalator facilities, hindering accessibility for many.

Despite being a model station, Tatanagar struggles with escalator installation, impacting sick and elderly passengers.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tatanagar station, labeled a model station, lacks sufficient escalator facilities.

The Railways’ failure to install four escalators over five years has caused inconvenience.

An escalator on platform one remains non-operational, affecting access to Burmamines Gate.

In 2018, two escalators were installed at a cost of Rs. 1 crore 65 lakh.

However, the foundation for four more was laid in 2019 with little progress since.

Passengers, especially those with mobility issues, face difficulties without these escalators.

Railways plan to install all three pending escalators on a new foot overbridge.

Unlike other major stations, Tatanagar lacks escalators for descending.

The station has only one operational lift, with the second still pending.

The delay in enhancing accessibility raises concerns among passengers.
