Gemipol’s Eye Care Program Marks 185th Birthday of Jamsetji Tata with Free Cataract Surgeries
On Jamsetji Tata’s birth anniversary, Tata Steel’s Jamipol launches an eye care initiative for the needy in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – Celebrating the 185th birth anniversary of its founder, Jamsetji Nausherwan Ji Tata, the city witnessed a special initiative aimed at providing eye care to the needy.
The program was launched at Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan, located at the Bagbera Police Station Chowk.
Under the aegis of Tata Steel group company Jamipol, 130 eye patients received examinations on the first day by Dr. B.P. Singh and his medical team.
A significant number, 62 patients, were diagnosed with hyper mature cataract conditions.
Following comprehensive health assessments, selected patients are slated for cataract surgery and lens implantation.
The surgeries will be conducted by Dr. B.P. Singh, Dr. Bharti Sharma, Dr. Poonam Singh, Dr. Vivek Kedia, and their team at the Ram Manohar Lohia Eye Hospital.
Distinguished guests at the eye examination included Vijay Kumar Singh of the Red Cross Society and Balmukund Goyal of Ram Manohar Lohia Nethralaya.
The inauguration of the operation session is scheduled for tomorrow, led by senior officials from Jamipol, furthering the legacy of Jamsetji Tata through impactful social responsibility.
