Modi Unveils 18 Amrit Stations for Jharkhand, 46 for SE Rly

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today showcased a monumental railway infrastructure endeavor, inaugurating and laying the foundation for projects exceeding Rs. 41,000 crores.

JAMSHEDPUR – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made a significant leap towards enhancing India’s railway network, with the inauguration and foundation laying of projects valued over Rs. 41,000 crores. Under the scheme 18 railway stations of Jharkhand, including Tatanagar, would be revamped. The Governor of Jharkhand CP Radhakrishnan was present at the commencement ceremony at Tatanagar Railway Station along with top railway officials.

This initiative is aimed at bolstering connectivity and modernizing the railway infrastructure across various states.

The foundation stone for six Amrit stations in Odisha was laid, with an estimated cost of Rs.240.82 Crores, alongside 23 Road Overbridges/Underpasses costing Rs.192.41 Crores.

Prior to this, in Jharkhand, the foundation was laid for 18 Amrit stations, with an investment of Rs. 578.95 Crores, plus an additional Rs.546.01 Crores for 44 Road Overbridges/Underpasses.

In West Bengal, 22 Amrit stations are set for redevelopment, with a budget of Rs. 597.15 Crores, and Rs. 492.05 Crores allocated for 41 Road Overbridges/Underpasses.

Competitions themed “2047 ke Viksit Bharat ka Viksit Rail” were organized, highlighting over 1,000 student winners at various locations.

Events across SER jurisdictions drew Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and a significant audience of local enthusiasts.

The commencement ceremony at Tatanagar Railway station was attended by CP Radhakrishnan, Governor of Jharkhand, Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager/SER, and other dignitaries.

Youth Engagement and Vision

Competitions engaged students in envisioning the future of Indian railways by 2047.

Awards were presented to over 1,000 students, acknowledging their innovative ideas.

Infrastructure and Connectivity

The foundation was laid for 46 stations under the Amrit Station Scheme, alongside 108 Road Overbridges and Underpasses.

These developments mark significant strides towards modernizing and expanding railway infrastructure.
