Congress Commemorates Late Leader’s Legacy at Congress Bhawan
Late Bagun Sumbarui’s political legacy celebrated by Congress members, marking his contributions to Jharkhand’s formation.
CHAIBASA – The Congress Bhawan was the venue for the remembrance of late Bagun Sumbarui, a revered figure in the Kolhan division’s political landscape, on his birth anniversary.
Congress members gathered to honor him with floral tributes, acknowledging his pivotal role in shaping the region’s political history.
Sumbarui’s political journey was notable for his advocacy for the separation of Chhotanagpur and Santhal Pargana, leading to his first election to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1967.
His continuous electoral success until 2009 underscored his enduring influence, serving multiple terms in both the Lok Sabha and the legislative assemblies of Bihar and Jharkhand.
Sumbarui’s tenure included key ministerial roles in Bihar and significant leadership positions within the Jharkhand Assembly and the Congress party.
Singhbhum MP Geeta Koda highlighted Sumbarui’s inspiring political career and his humble approach to leadership, which endeared him to many.
