Jamshedpur: The Mango Gurdwara Road resident P Mishra, who had been absconding in connection with a fraud case for nine years, was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Jugsalai police.
He was apprehended in Ranchi Namkum’s Amethia Nagar, where he had been hiding.
After a protracted search, the police were ultimately successful in apprehending him with the aid of both their sources and the technical cell.
According to Kunal Kumar, the officer in-charge of the Jugsalai police station, a fraud of two crore rupees was perpetrated from the Jugsalai branch of the Canara Bank nine years ago.
In the case, sixteen persons were charged, including P Mishra.
The Canara Bank manager’s participation was also detected during the investigation, and he was detained and imprisoned among others.
Mishra, however, had managed to elude the law and had since been on the run.
He continued moving around to avoid being apprehended. But eventually, the police were able to locate him and take him into custody.
Mishra has been arrested and sent to jail.
