Flying Squad Thwarts Theft at Tatanagar Station, Apprehends Thief

In a successful operation, the Railway Flying Squad arrested a thief at Tatanagar station, recovering stolen mobile phones valued at Rs 98 thousand.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Railway Flying Squad at Tatanagar station played a crucial role in preventing a theft incident, leading to the capture of Ravi Kumar from Aurangabad in the early hours of Saturday.

Ravi Kumar was detained around 3 am while he was suspiciously wandering on platforms 2 and 3, with intentions to commit theft.

Upon searching, the squad found four mobile phones in his possession, three of which were missing SIM cards, indicating they were stolen.

The Flying Squad, including Balbir Prasad, Head Constable Mahendra Pratap Yadav, Saroj Kumar, Constable Ravi Kumar, and Shivam Sisodia, were on patrol when they noticed suspicious activities near the foot overbridge between platforms 2 and 3.

Ravi Kumar, hailing from Ramnagar under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station in Aurangabad, confessed to stealing two mobile phones at Ranchi station and intended to steal more at Tatanagar station.

Following his arrest, Ravi Kumar was sent to judicial custody, with the stolen mobile phones estimated to be worth Rs 98 thousand.

The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of the Railway Flying Squad in maintaining security within the station premises.
