All Set for Jharkhand Cabinet Expansion Today
Soren Govt to Induct New Ministers, Raj Bhavan Ready
Jharkhand’s Soren government prepares for cabinet expansion, incorporating new faces and maintaining party quotas.
RANCHI – The political landscape of Jharkhand is abuzz with the impending cabinet expansion of the Champai Soren government, scheduled for today at 4 p.m. at the Raj Bhavan.
Amidst rising speculation, it has been revealed that Hemant Soren’s brother, Basant Soren, is likely to join the cabinet, possibly as Deputy Chief Minister.
Further, discussions hint at potential cabinet positions for Sita Soren, Mithilesh Thakur, Joba Manjhi, Hafizul Hasan, and Baby Devi.
The latest reports have confirmed the inclusion of Basant Soren, Deepak Birua, and Baijnath Ram in the cabinet expansion, marking a significant reshuffle.
This will be the inaugural ministerial role for Basant Soren and Deepak Birua, indicating a strategic move by the Soren government.
Contrary to expectations, the Congress and RJD quotas in the cabinet remain unchanged, with all previous ministers retaining their positions.
This decision has sparked discontent among some Congress MLAs, prompting a series of discussions at the Circuit House to quell the unrest.
In a dramatic turn, several Congress MLAs have secluded themselves in room number 107 of the Circuit House, expressing their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
The heart of the controversy lies within the Congress party, where a group of MLAs has escalated tensions by seeking intervention from Rahul Gandhi for ministerial positions.
Despite initial speculation of changes in the Congress quota ministers due to internal pressure, the status quo prevails, leading to visible discord within the party ranks.
The event marks a significant moment in Jharkhand politics, following the government’s successful trust vote on February 5, where it garnered 47 votes in favor.
Originally slated for February 8, the cabinet expansion was postponed to today, adding to the anticipation and political maneuvering within the state.
