Jharkhand Government Set for Cabinet Expansion

Champai Soren to boost state governance with new appointments on 16th February

The upcoming cabinet expansion by the Champai Soren government is poised to enhance state administrative efficiency, with significant board and corporation roles to be filled.

RANCHI – The Champai Soren administration is on the verge of enlarging its cabinet on February 16, with subsequent plans to fill vacancies in various boards and corporations.

This move is particularly aimed at appointing senior leaders to key positions, notably within entities currently lacking leadership under the JMM quota.

Discussions are underway within the party to strategize the allocation of these significant roles, reflecting a concerted effort to strengthen governance.

The recent establishment of the Jharkhand State Backward Classes Commission has set a precedent, with expectations for the Information Commission and Women Commission to be formalized shortly.

The completion of the application process for the Information Commission marks a critical step towards this goal.

In light of Stephen Marandi’s reduced activity due to health issues, there’s speculation about appointing a prominent leader to the Vice President position of the 20 Point program, contingent on Marandi’s consent and potential resignation.

The Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) currently lacks a chairman, prompting discussions for a significant leader’s appointment to bolster its operations.

Similarly, leadership vacancies in Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited (TVNL) and other entities are expected to be addressed, with resignations already secured from several members of the Jharkhand State Child Protection Commission to make way for new appointments.

Vacant chairman positions in the Mati Kala Board and other key boards and corporations are set to be filled, aligning with the party’s strategy to strengthen its public engagement ahead of future Lok Sabha or Assembly elections.

This comprehensive approach to appointments underscores the government’s intent to leverage boards and corporations as platforms for enhancing public relations and governance effectiveness.
