International Event Seeks Climate Resiliency, Best Practices for Green Growth
Task Force on Sustainable Just Transition launches website, hosts luminaries from over 30 nations at two-day conference.
RANCHI – Jharkhand’s "Sustainable Transition for Future-Ready Jharkhand" conference integrates global perspectives for climate-resilient growth. Organized by the state’s Task Force on Sustainable Just Transition, with support from CEED, UNDP-India, and WRI-India, the event launched the Task Force’s official website.
International leaders and experts joined senior officials from India’s central and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jammu, and Kashmir. Chief Secretary L. Khiangte highlighted the state’s commitment to green economy goals, emphasizing collaboration to ensure a holistic and equitable transition.
Task Force Chairperson A.K. Rastogi stressed multi-sector strategies and opportunities for climate-compatible growth. Manoj Singh of Uttar Pradesh lauded Jharkhand’s leadership in sustainability planning.
UNDP-India’s Isabelle Tschan focused on knowledge sharing, clean energy infrastructure investment, and alternative livelihoods within the transition. CEED CEO Ramapati Kumar underscored the conference’s potential for tangible impact by adapting global insights to the local level.
