JBA Targets Boxing Growth in Jharkhand, Plans Boxing Centre in Garhwa

The Jharkhand Boxing Association’s recent meeting underscores its commitment to enhance boxing infrastructure and nurture talent across the state, with a special emphasis on Garhwa.

JAMSHEDPUR – The annual general body meeting of the Jharkhand Boxing Association was held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, focusing on boxing development statewide, particularly in Garhwa.

During the event, Neha Tantubai was celebrated for her exceptional achievements in boxing, receiving a cash award and equipment.

Ayushi Dubey and Shrinda Kumari were acknowledged for their discipline in the sport.

The meeting highlighted the significant progress of boxing in Garhwa, noting the emergence of six national-level athletes from the district.

Uttam Singh, JBA President, underscored the potential of Garhwa as a key boxing hub and committed to supporting the district’s boxing ecosystem.

The assembly included influential figures like Anil Bohidar of the Boxing Federation of India and Harbhajan Singh from the Jharkhand Olympic Association, among others.

The JBA announced plans to issue its annual calendar soon, aiming to streamline operations and boost boxing throughout Jharkhand.

In a significant move, the JBA revoked the recognition of the Ranchi District Boxing Association for alleged arbitrary practices and issued a show-cause notice to coach Karthik Mahato.
