Jharkhand Boxing Association revokes Ranchi District Boxing’s recognition

In a decisive move to uphold standards and foster boxing talent across the state, the Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA) has revoked the recognition of the Ranchi District Boxing Association for alleged arbitrary practices, while also issuing a show-cause notice to coach cum referee Karthik Mahato.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA) took significant steps to strengthen the sport’s foundation in the state during its annual general body meeting held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

Under the leadership of JBA President Uttam Singh, the meeting focused on developing boxing infrastructure and facilities across Jharkhand, with particular emphasis on making Garhwa district a key boxing center.

Acknowledging the rise of national-level talent from Garhwa, Uttam Singh, who also serves as the Vice President of Iron Making at Tata Steel, committed to enhancing the boxing ecosystem in the district.

The association recognized Neha Tantubai from Jamshedpur for her outstanding achievements in boxing, awarding her a cash prize and a boxing kit, while Ayushi Dubey and Shrinda Kumari were named the most disciplined boxers.

Notable attendees included Anil Bohidar of the Boxing Federation of India, Harbhajan Singh from the Jharkhand Olympic Association, JBA officials, and representatives from 16 districts, underscoring the widespread support for boxing in Jharkhand.

Additionally, the JBA announced plans to release its annual calendar soon, aiming to organize and promote boxing activities throughout the year.

This meeting marks a pivotal moment for boxing in Jharkhand, showcasing the JBA’s dedication to nurturing talent and maintaining the integrity of the sport at all levels.
