Jharkhand Cabinet Expansion Postponed to February 16
Champai Soren’s cabinet swearing-in rescheduled, aligning with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra schedule
The cabinet expansion for the Champai Soren government in Jharkhand has been rescheduled, moving the ceremony to mid-February.
RANCHI – Governor CP Radhakrishnan has deferred the cabinet members’ swearing-in ceremony, initially slated for February 8, to February 16 at 3 pm.
This adjustment comes at the behest of Chief Minister Champai Soren, with the rescheduling confirmed by Raj Bhavan.
The delay aligns with the second phase of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which Congress leaders say will commence on February 14, keeping him in Jharkhand until February 15.
Following Gandhi’s departure, the Jharkhand Council of Ministers will officially take oath.
This cabinet expansion follows the recent political shift in Jharkhand, where JMM leader Hemant Soren, entangled in a land scam investigation by the Enforcement Directorate, stepped down as Chief Minister.
Champai Soren then assumed leadership of the coalition legislature party, setting the stage for the upcoming ministerial appointments.
