XLRI Hosts Global Ethics Conference with Diverse Insights

The XLRI campus in Jamshedpur, India, was the focal point for global leaders to discuss ethical practices in business, emphasizing the integration of ethical principles into corporate strategies.

JAMSHEDPUR – The XLRI campus in Jamshedpur, India, recently became a global hub for discussions on ethical business practices, hosting the International Conference on Enabling Social and Business Responsibility in Our Globalised World.

The event wrapped up with a Special Dinner and Cultural Programme, providing a platform for networking among participants from diverse backgrounds, highlighting the significance of inclusivity and diversity in ethical leadership discourse.

Keynote addresses and a panel discussion with executives from leading corporations bridged the theoretical and practical aspects of business ethics, offering varied perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the field.

The conference featured a variety of paper presentations on topics ranging from ethics in higher education and corporate governance to green technology innovations and ethical AI, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on ethical leadership.

Prof. H.K. Pradhan extended a vote of thanks, marking the culmination of the conference that emphasized values-based reasoning and the importance of ethical practices in leadership and business operations.

Prof. Jeff Thies from Loyola Marymount University delivered an online address, discussing the complexity of business ethics and the significance of value-based leadership.

Fr. Kuruvilla Pandikattu, SJ, from the JRD Tata Foundation, outlined the conference agenda, focusing on community, compassion, and commitment as central themes.

Mr. Amit Raj Sinha of Sigachi Industries and Ms. Soni Sinha of Tata Steel shared their experiences on implementing ethics in business decisions and operations, stressing the importance of ethical leadership and corporate responsibility.

The opening remarks by Fr. Donald D’Silva, SJ, Fr. Jerry Coutinha, SJ, and Fr. George, SJ, set a reflective tone, emphasizing ethical leadership’s role in achieving a sustainable and just world.

The conference, a collaborative effort between the JRD Tata Foundation for Business Ethics and XLRI, Xavier School of Management, and its international partners, served as a significant platform for advancing the discourse on ethical leadership and corporate responsibility, bringing together a global community committed to ethical practices.
