120 Eye Check-ups and 280 Saplings Distributed in Chaliyama by Anand Marg and Yuvak Milan Samiti
In Chaliyama, Anand Marg and Yuvak Milan Samiti’s collaborative effort resulted in 120 eye examinations and the distribution of 280 saplings, marking a significant community health and environmental initiative.
JAMSHEDPUR – Anand Marg, in partnership with Yuvak Milan Samiti, Chaliyama, organized a comprehensive eye check-up camp, providing free examinations for approximately 120 individuals.
This initiative, held in collaboration with Purnima Netralaya, identified 35 patients with cataract and PTR who are scheduled for complimentary surgeries and lens implantations on February 14th.
The event also saw the distribution of 280 saplings, including 30 of Sita Ashok and Triphala varieties, alongside 250 fruit-bearing plants like jackfruit, mango, cashew, and blackberries, to local villagers.
Participants were encouraged to commit to environmental conservation, reinforcing the importance of planting trees for ecosystem balance and societal welfare.
Anand Marg’s effort is part of a broader campaign, having distributed over 150,000 saplings in the past 15 years, aiming at environmental preservation and community upliftment.
Sunil Anand emphasized the dual benefits of tree planting for environmental health and poverty reduction, advocating for a neo-humanistic approach to recognize trees, plants, and animals as integral family members for societal and global welfare.
The distribution spans from January 31 to February 27, focusing on rare species for religious sites, highlighting Anand Marg’s dedication to increasing oxygen levels and fostering a harmonious coexistence with nature.
