Garden enthusiasts shine at Beldih Club’s prestigious ceremony

In a notable event that brought together garden enthusiasts from across Jamshedpur, the ‘Garden of the Year 2024’ awards were distributed at Beldih Club, highlighting the city’s horticultural talents.

JAMSHEDPUR – The ‘Garden of the Year 2024’ event, a highlight for Jamshedpur’s horticultural community, concluded with an award ceremony at Beldih Club.

Ravi Ranjan, IFS, played a pivotal role as the chief guest, underscoring the event’s significance.

A distinguished jury comprising Jayanta Ghoshal, Atanu Kar, Debasish Bal, Debasish Mondal, and Horticultural Society Jamshedpur members evaluated the entrants.

This year, the competition was intense with 84 participants across 12 categories, reflecting the growing interest in gardening.

The inclusion of two new categories for balcony gardens, accommodating up to 50 and more than 50 pots, introduced fresh competition.

Awards spanned various categories, from individual gardens to corporate offices, showcasing diverse horticultural skills.

In the corporate sector, R&D Tata Steel emerged as the champion, underscoring the importance of green spaces in the workplace.

Educational institutions also shone, with XLRI Jamshedpur leading the pack, highlighting the academic community’s commitment to greenery.

Among individual entrants, champions ranged from balcony gardeners to bungalow maintainers, illustrating the wide appeal of gardening.

The event, organized by the Horticulture Society of Jamshedpur, has become a cherished tradition, celebrating the city’s green thumbs.
